Sponsored by NIKO GREEN. Sponsorship: KES 10,000.00.
Overview
This is designed to equip healthcare professionals, health facility managers, engineers, public health practitioners, community health personnel, and other relevant stakeholders with the knowledge and practical skills to advance environmentally sustainable and climate-resilient healthcare in Kenya.
The programme offers specialised learning pathways tailored to different professional roles, covering the implementation of Green Health Guidelines, sustainable healthcare waste management, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), clean energy, facility emissions monitoring, climate-resilient service delivery, green leadership, and community engagement.
Through a modular, competency-based approach, participants will acquire practical skills to translate Green Health policies and guidelines into action within healthcare facilities and communities. The programme also provides advanced training and mentorship opportunities for professionals seeking to become Green Health trainers and support capacity-building initiatives at county and national levels. Participants can select a training pathway aligned with their professional responsibilities and career goals, with certification awarded upon successful completion of the prescribed modules and applicable requirements.
The programme aims to strengthen the health sector’s capacity to reduce its environmental footprint, improve resilience to climate change, and deliver safer, more sustainable, and equitable healthcare services.
